- Another homerun by the greatest country band of all time

Just when you think they would be slowing down, the boys put out another gem. From the opening "Twentieth Century", talking about our century, you're hooked. "Small Stuff" is one of the best songs on the album, a wonderful song about keeping things in perspective in life and love. "I love you enough to let you go" is a great message about growing up and leaving home. This is an album with a great mix of slow and tender songs, and upbeat tap your foot songs. If you don't have this album, you need it. It's a great album, even if you're not an Alabama fan. Simply wonderful.

This album is full of great songs.I would not know which one to pick as a cut.I WISHED they would release THEN WE REMEMBER it reminds me of MOUNTAIN MUSIC the way its sung , with TEDDY then RANDY on vocals,( where was JEFF.?)The title cut is very good.like I said all the songs are great it takes me back to the YOU'VE GOT THE TOUCH, WHEN WE MADE LOVE, FOREVER IS AS FAR AS ILL GO days!Still going STRONG!

- review - twenthy century...

this CD is a wonderful collection of hits. The CD takes the listener on many levels of emotion.

The harmony from the guys from Fort Payne shows through on this album. prime examples are on Then we Remember and on the current single God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You.

The tone of the album is not one that can be easily explained since there are so many different sounding songs.

Alabama has done it again, people should give it a listen

- A fitting end to the last millenium

So many people wrote them off a long time ago. Perhaps their record company had too, as Alabama's previous release to this was For the record, a double CD containing all 41 of their country number one hits at the time. It also contained three newly recorded tracks, one of which gave them a 42nd number one hit With this album, Alabama provided more proof that they were not yet finished. As I write this in the year of their farewell tour, perhaps the end is near, but that remains to be seen.

On this album, all the songs are of a high quality but there are three songs that I particularly like. Small stuff, the first single, reminds you that little things can be very important. Write it in blue is about a relationship breaking down - the singer declares that if the woman can't say she is finished with him, she should write it down.

The title track, perhaps more than any track here, demonstrates why I love Alabama's music. It captures the essence of the twentieth century in a four-minute song - I don't think the great country storyteller could have done any better. While others were singing about the perceived computer problems caused by the passing of 1999 (problems which never arose), Alabama used 1999 as a reason to celebrate the century, reminding us of just a few of the achievements.

Alabama's basic style is the same as it always was, but the songs are all originals. There are no covers on this album, although they have proved their ability to do those on other albums. I have not heard all Alabama's original albums, but I've heard a fair number of them. This is among the best of them.
