- Excellent, but...

On the minus side:

-It's too short (only 9 songs)

-Sound, although very good, only in 2ch DD (no DTS nor 2+3 DD)

On the plus side:

-Performances couldn't be better, as you'd expect from these musicians

-Image quality is perfect and the cameras are always where they should be. (You don't miss a bit of the solos)

-And the best technical feature in my opinion, you can play the entire show with the interviews in-between the songs or play it separately, only the interviews or just the songs without the interviews. Well done!

And on the super-plus side:

- It's Alison Krauss singing !

- Short measure

Having become a Krauss fan by listening to the amazing live Louisville album, I found this a slight let-down.

Why? Well, first of all, it has to be said that Alison Krauss is and remains extraordinary; the beauty and quality of that voice are really something else. She is joined by members of Union Station and various other musicians. There are some really great tracks here. If "Sawing on the strings" doesn't get your feet tapping, have the man screw the lid down right away.

My main problem is that there is rather short measure here, only 9 tracks (the identically-named CD has rather more, although the other tracks (e.g. with the Chieftains) were probably recorded at a different place and time). Secondly, not even the brilliance of Ms. Krauss and Union Station can compensate for the lack of brilliance of some of the partners. I found both the James Taylor and John Waite efforts particularly poor.

I found the various interviews a bit painful, with everyone saying how wonderful everyone else was and how they sacrificed to each other's effigies every night. We would have been better off with more singing and playing - an instrumental number showing off Ms. Krauss's fiddle-playing skills would have been good.

Nevertheless, in spite of these minor reservations, still worth having.

- Superb music, superb musicians, superb recording!

There are enough wordy reviews here so this will be short.

This DVD is pure joy. The songs are beautiful. The duets are beyond words. The musicians are amazing. Alison is the consummate female singer.

Total emotional involvement happens to me. A rare gem in a field of thousands.

Buy it! Turn it up! Let yourself be immersed.

- great

Great DVD. The only problem I have with it is that the sound is only in stereo, not surround.

- Just beautiful

I don't know which is more beautiful on this DVD: Alison Krauss or her voice. This sweetheart of the bluegrass scene was never more lovely, and her vocals are truly as angelic as her face. My only complaint is that it is about four hours too short and does not have the full music video of her singing the Waite and Paisley duets that clips are shown of in the interviews section. Buy it and enjoy it over and over.
