Billy Currington Album: “Doin' Somethin' Right”
Description :
Personnel: Billy Currington (vocals); John D. Willis (acoustic guitar); Glen Mitchell, Brent Mason (electric guitar); Paul Franklin (steel guitar, lap steel guitar); Scott Sanders, Smith Curry (dobro); Stuart Duncan (fiddle); Michael McDonald (piano); Gary Prim (keyboards); Glenn Worf, David Smith (bass guitar); Eddie Bayers (drums); Wes Hightower, Ray "Chip" Davis (background vocals). <p>The follow-up to his successful self-titled debut, DOIN' SOMETHIN' RIGHT finds country singer Billy Currington lining his rural-minded tunes with more of a pure pop sound, as evidenced on the smooth ballad "She's Got a Way with Me" (featuring Doobie Brother Michael McDonald). Although Currington belts out "I Wanna Be a Hillbilly" on the twangy opening track, much of this record indicates that what he really wants to be is the male Shania Twain. Still, Currington does keep it country on an excellent version of the Kenny Rogers hit "Lucille," showing that he knows how to pull off an impressive balancing act.

- Redeeming CD

I like one or two of Billy Currington's first songs; however, I think his duet w/ Shania Twain actually hurt him. This CD compiles a great mix of songs - good country twang with a little motown, fast and slower paced songs.

I have gotten more discriminating in CD purchasing since I can simply download songs I really like as opposed to shelling out $12-15 for a mediocre CD, but I got hooked on Doing Something Right and had to have this CD. I have not regretted the purchase. Usually I only end up liking one or two songs on a CD but this CD is great overall.

I can only hope that Billy Currington will release more songs off this CD - Good Directions, She's Got a Way with Me.

- LOVE IT!

I just got this CD today and I absolutely LOVE IT! Billy's first self titled CD now has competition! LOL I love all the songs including the first single "Must be Doin Something Right." Some of my other favorites are "I wanna be a Hillbilly," "Whole Lot More Where I come from" and "She's got a way with me" I just love love love that song, his voice is so sexy! If you do not have this CD I recommend you go buy it this instant! It is definetely a must have!

- Billy's Doin It Right Again

If you love country music this CD is a must have. Many of todays country artists are turning to more pop like tunes but on Billy Currington's second Cd he stayed true to his Georgia roots. Must Be Doin Somethin Right, the single release is awesome but then so are the other 10 songs on this CD. I especially like Good Directions, Why Why Why, Little Bit Lonely and Whole Lot More. She's Got A way With Me, written with Michael McDonald is a top ten hit in itself. Several of the songs on the CD are ones he's been doing in his live show for some time now so it's nice to finally have them on a disc. This CD is incredible and so is Billy. Go see him live, you'll see for yourself that Billy is Doin Somethin Right.

- Boogilicious! Countrylicious! Billy is doin' somethin' right! =)

I enjoyed 9 out of 11 tracks from Billy Currington's "Doin' Somethin' Right" cd. The tracks are great. They make you want to dance, it has romantic tracks, and lots of feel good music that totally makes listening to music while driving in traffic fun! Yes! Fun! Billy's new release showcases his amazing voice! He has so much range. His voice is just right. Most cds I've bought I become totally disappointed but NOT this one. Buy it! It's worth it!

- GREAT CLASSIC COUNTRY

The sophomore effort from Billy Currington is just as GREAT as his first release. Every track on the CD is fantastic. There's something on this CD for everyone. There are fun, upbeat dance tunes as well as slow ballads. There is also a totally awesome cover of Kenny Rogers' classic "Lucille". Some highlights of the album are "Good Directions", "Why, Why, Why", "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right" and "Here I Am".

Also highly recommend his first CD "Billy Currington"
