Disco de Billy Currington: “Little Bit Of Everything”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel: Biff Watson (acoustic guitar); Troy Lancaster, Brent Mason (electric guitar); Paul Franklin (steel guitar); Scotty Emerick (gut-string guitar); Tony Harrell (keyboards); David Smith (bass instrument); Paul Leim (drums); Chip Davis, Wes Hightower (background vocals). <p>True to its title, the third album by Nashville's Billy Currington throws some rock and R&B influences into his contemporary country music. A rocking blend of crunchy guitars, in-your-face drums, and more subtle traditional country instrumentation like fiddles and pedal steel characterizes the album's brash but not noisy or harsh sound. Highlights include the idyllic opener, "Swimmin' In Sunshine," a sure-thing evocation of a gorgeous lazy summer day, and the wry "That's How Country Boys Roll."

- Major Talent....Unleashed

Billy Currington should become a household name with the release of his third cd. The thing that is so refreshing about Currington is that he is not afraid to take risks, often risks that could be career breaking. But he uses those great sultry chops of his and gives us "eclectic Billy"and it all works! Unlike Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Rodney Atkins who give us predictable, bland, 2 note range country, Currington actually uses his voice, its range, power and timing with a fine variety of songs, radio friendly pop/country, but each unique.

There are a bunch of tunes that are the top of the lines. The first cd cut is called 'Swimmin in Sunshine" that must be pulled as a summer single. It is the best summer, upbeat song to come along in years. This should be a smash..infectious and sassy. "Every Reason Not to Go" shows Billy in familiar country territory that he handles so well. "People are Crazy" has a traditional country George Strait sound to it. And

"Everything" the sort of reggae, country, is the absolute best thing on the cd. This song is just so damn good. This and "Swimmin" are the monster cuts. "Walk On" takes on a bluesy Beatleseque feel, and "Heal Me" is the most challenging vocally for Billy. He does a great job.

Truly, there is not a miss on the album, but there is one weak cut," Life, Love and the Meaning of It" which is just a poorly written song. But even that is far better than most of the pablum you hear on fm country today.

Billy Currington is new country and he does it well. You can tell that this guy loves to sing, because his phrasing, range, and style reveal that so honestly.

- If I was stranded on deserted island with a record player and could only take 5 records with me, this would be the first!

Billy Currington is one of Country's finest musicians and this album is even better than the rest! He never disappoints. From his ballads to his fun-loving party songs, each song is written and performed from the heart. Whether you are cleaning your house or on a road trip in your car, Billy's songs will have you dancing with the vacuum cleaner or dancing in your seat! You'll be singing along to every word and will relate to them all! Parents and kids (most anyways) will love this album! It's a timeless treasure that will have you playing it over and over again and you'll look up his tour information just so you can hear him perform this great music LIVE. I not only recommend this album, but Billy's other records as well.

- Good effort, but not comparable to the first 2

This album is not as strong as the previous 2, with only a handful of songs that you can remember after the first listen. "Don't" is the strongest track and is one of only a few songs that showcased Billy's vocal range and versatility - perhaps he took it easy on his vocal chords considering he recently just came back from something so career-threatening.. Another strong cut is "People Are Crazy" - a story about a man who inherited the wealth of a stranger, an old man, who he had one conversation with over beer - "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy".

One song that I find too "forced" is "Life, Love and the Meaning Of". I thought the song had no direction and was, as they say, all over the place.

Overall, it's a good enough effort but he would probably not get more than 2 hits out of this.
