Disco de Bobby Bare: “I Took a Memory to Lunch”
Descripción (en inglés) :
There should be more country compilations like I TOOK A MEMORY TO LUNCH. This fantastic collection foregoes Bobby Bare's more famous hits such as "Detroit City" and "500 Miles Away From Home" in favor of sundry classic performances that shore up his credentials as an unsung force for the '70s outlaw movement. With Bare's '60s folkie and pop approach to hardcore country, he was a Nashville guy who never quite fit in and whose heart was really with the outlaws. He embraced songwriters such as Kris Kristofferson and Shel Silverstein, represented on I TOOK A MEMORY TO LUNCH with moving renditions of "For the Good Times" and "Sylvia's Mother," respectively. All the performances are spot-on here, with Bare's earthy but smooth baritone taking center stage and delivering knockout renditions of famous songs such as Tom T. Hall's "Hello Darlin." While not a greatest-hits collection--for the best of those try THE BEST OF BOBBY BARE--this is a perfect introduction to Bare's artistry as a singer and song connoisseur.
