Disco de Bobby Bare: “20 Bare Essentials”
 Descripción (en inglés) :
Never quite fitting into the Nashville crowd in which he often found himself, Bobby Bare earned a reputation as a maverick during his long career. Whereas fellow outsiders Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings escaped Nashville's confines by embracing rock aesthetics, Bare was always a pop singer at heart. 20 BARE ESSENTIALS, however, eschews some of his more well-known pop hits--"Detroit City" and "500 Miles Away From Home," for example--and instead focuses on his more countrified fare. Bare's takes on Tom T. Hall and Kris Kristofferson dominate the collection, which also includes the standard "Crazy Arms" and Conway Twitty's "Hello Darlin'."

- My Favorite
This had all my favorite Kris kristofferson songs (Come Sundown,Lovin' Her Was Easier,Me and Bobby McGee,Help Me Make It Through The Night, and For The Good Times). It also includes some great Tom T hall songs and a great version of Sylvia's Mother. I would also recomend 16 biggest hits,Bare tracks(the columbia years) and Singles 1959-1969.

- Mercury greats
Bobby Bare, still alive and well (his most recent record "The Moon is Blue" is well worth picking up)kept an unusually high level of excellence throughout his long recording career. He was known to be a top-notch chooser of material and many a great songwriter -- Kristofferson. Tom T Hall and Shel Silverstein -- sought him out. This is a fantastic single disc overview of Bare's Mercury output. One after another classic Nashville standard done in Bobby's deadpan style. You can't go wrong. Nice to hear an early version of "Sylvia's Mother" too.
- Bare tracks Bare tracks
This disc is a keeper- Bare has a singular voice and every song he sings is a Bare original.Bare could sing an AC/DC song and I would dare anyone to say that he did not write the damn thing. Think about it -Bare banging out You shook me all night long. An american original. This Cd contains only one Bare penned song Music City USA in which he co wrote with Shaver. The rest of the disc is a showcase of Nashvilles elite in which Bobbys versions excel on every level. The best track is Roses Are Red My Love-astounding first time hearing by Bobby-the remaining tracks are just amazing. Combine this with Biggest hits to wet the appetite and then move on to some of Bobbys original albums-Bare,The Real Thing,The Sleeper Wherever I Fall -im ordering these soon.
- Underrated singer and songwriter
I fear that Bobby Bare must not have lived outrageously enough to get noticed, but get one of his albums and I bet you will want more. This album is mainly "covers" of other singer-songwriters work; but you will find his renditions to stand up to the best
performances of the songs by anyone.
