- timeless

This is timeless, beautiful music that can be listened to for ages. It's funny to consider that this was considered "pop" music back in the day; all I know is that pop music sure don't sound this good nowadays. Every song is melodically beautiful, classically arranged, and delivered with Brenda's unmistakeable,TO DIE-FOR delivery. She doesn't have the strongest voice in the world-but there's that something-that raspy undertone mixed with sweet sassiness and sultry swoops that makes up for any lack of range or strength that she may have.Absolutely timeless, unforgettable music-each song greater than the last.

- There's no one like Brenda Lee

This CD represents Brenda Lee at the peak of her musical powers,1959-63. Her sweet, bluesy southern voice is truly unique.I feel guilty making this comparison but she, in my opinion,is the female " Elvis" when it comes to interpreting a song. The mark of a true artist is the ability to excel beyond musical catagory. You can't peg her simply in one of these buckets( country, blues, gospel,R&B,rock ). She incorporates elements of all these influences but mixes them up in a musical stew that is truly unique. What makes the CD a classic is a "perfect musical storm". First the artist, then the material, musicians and production values.

I discussed the artist, now lets explore briefly the other success factors.

1.Writers like Ronnie Self,Jerry Reed, Mel Tillis and( who would of thought) Jackie DeShannon.

2. A pure production genius /legend, Owen Bradley

3. The early sixties Nashville studio and the studio musicians to numberous to mention. This assemblage of talent during this period has never been replicated in Nashville. Again, we tend to bucket artists. in this case, as if musicians residing in Nashville are only capable of playing C&W. Nonsense, these musicians, like any true great, were more then capable of playing any musical genre.

Sadly, Brenda never captured the magic on a consistent basis following this period. There's a wealth of reasons why but this isn't the time or place. It's just important to reinforce Brenda Lee and the recordings contained on this CD are classic and timeless. That is the key element that defines any great art that it transends time. Thank you Brenda.

- "I'm Sorry"

I'm Sorry for the people that never heard of Brenda Lee. I tried to find music by her at Target, the people I asked in the music department looked at me like I was making her up, never heard of her. This is one CD that I found that I like every single song on it. I do have one complaint though, today is Saturday, I played the CD last Sunday in my car, went through all songs twice by the time I got back home, my complaint is, now I can't get the songs out of my head. Over and over again. I'm not kidding.

- Brenda is a pleasant singer.

I have an impression that a voice of Brenda of youth is fresh.

I can understand that the nickname which she calls a little dynamite was given.

However, her good point is not only simple spirit. There is a really tasteful atmosphere when I listen to her song well.

"ALL Alone AM I" is the most splendid tune in this CD.
