Brooks & Dunn Album: “The Greatest Hits Collection II”
Description :
Brooks & Dunn: Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn (vocals, guitar).

Additional personnel include: Reba McEntire (vocals).

There's no denying that Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn ruled the pop/country roost throughout the 1990s, but this second volume of Brooks & Dunn hits shows that the phenomenally successful duo kept chugging along well beyond their early-'90s heyday. It's mainly occupied by tracks from the late '90s and early 2000s, interspersed with a few new bonus cuts to keep the faithful on board. Those who've kept up with the twosome's career will be familiar with the ground covered by the hits, from the old-school barroom weeper "I'll Never Forgive My Heart" to the nostalgic Bob Seger-goes-to-Nashville country-rock title track of the duo's 2003 album, RED DIRT ROAD.

As for the new songs, they run the gamut; the jubilant "That's What It's All About" is full of lustrous production and catchy pop choruses, "It's Getting Better All the Time" is a gentle, piano-laced ballad, and "Independent Trucker" is a high-octane, road-themed twangfest. Those who wrote off Brooks & Dunn somewhere in the middle of the '90s will be caught up short by THE GREATEST HITS COLLECTION II.

- Kix and Ronnie keep churning out the hits!
The fact that Brooks and Dunn already have a greatest hits VOLUME TWO as well as a volume one in an otherwise-brief career is both a testimonial to their talent and a promise of longevity in the cutthroat music industry. Ronnie Dunn's voice soars on already-classic hits such as "How Long Gone" and "Red Dirt Road" just to name a few of the famous tracks in this fabulous collection. If you're a new B&D fan and want to get all their best without having to buy all their albums, this one's for you. If you're hardcore Brooks and Dunn, then you still won't want to miss it. What better treat for yourself on that dull ride to work in the morning? Congratulations, Ronnie and Kix. I can't wait for Volume 3!!!

- BROOKS AND DUNN SHOWCASE A GREAT CAREER
Brooks and Dunn's second greatest hits collection is a classic. So many great songs are on this album. It's not quite as good as their first greatest hits, but it's pretty close. Brooks and Dunn will always be at the top of the list when it comes to country music. One of their best songs ever appears on this cd, "Red Dirt Road". That song really reaches out and grabs the listener. If you like country music a lot or even just a little, this cd is a must have. It won't leave your stereo.
