Brooks & Dunn Album: “Hillbilly Deluxe”
Description :
Brooks & Dunn: Kix Brooks (vocals, harmonica); Ronnie Dunn (vocals).

Additional personnel include: Bryan Sutton (acoustic guitar, banjo); Kenny Greenberg (electric guitar, National guitar); J.T. Corenflos (electric guitar); Dan Dugmore (steel guitar); Stuart Duncan (mandolin); Hank Singer (fiddle); Glenn Worf, Michael Rhodes (bass guitar); Eddie Bayers Jr. (drums); Eric Darken (percussion).

Thanks to the newfound success of "real" country singers like Gretchen Wilson and Toby Keith, not to mention the neo-outlaw duo Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn return to their Nashville roots on HILLBILLY DELUXE. After a string of increasingly pop-oriented albums, the change does them good. The first single, "Play Something Country," could be the best jukebox song since Alan Jackson's early-1990s hit "Don't Rock the Jukebox." From that opening track onwards, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks stick to the basics: broken hearts ("Her West Was Wilder" and "I May Never Get Over You") and broken bottles (on the tough-guy "Whiskey Do My Talkin'" and the celebratory "Just Another Neon Night"). They don't abandon their rock flirtations entirely--Sheryl Crow drops by on "Building Bridges," and the stomping title track edges towards Big & Rich territory --but HILLBILLY DELUXE is the most purely country album Brooks & Dunn have released since 1993's HARD WORKIN' MAN, and it's one of their most entertaining ever.

- This CD is DELUXE!
I am not an avid Brooks and Dunn Fan. I liked their new single "Play Something Country." I decided to give their new CD a try.
I was very surprised. Each and every song is a winner on this album. I'd have to say that my favorite songs on this album are "Play Something Country", "Whisky Do My Talkin", and "She's About As Lonely As I'm Going To Let Her Get."
Their upbeat songs are honky tonkin, foot tapin, pleasure. The balands are heart wrenching and beautiful. This is deffinately a CD that will go in heavy rotation in my jukebox.
If you do not have this album, add it to your collection. It's country music at it's best!

- Hillbilly Kudos!
Just my opinion that "Hillbilly Deluxe" is by far Kix & Ronnie's primo effort so far! You know, when "Steers & Stripes" came out I thought "WOW, this is their best" and it was then. Then "Red Dirt Road" and I thought the same thing. "Hillbilly Deluxe" far surpasses both of the other efforts in originality and pure country music (this coming from someone living on the outskirts of NYC). I would also like to add that if the guys decide to perform "Whiskey Do My Talkin'" in concert, they should heed this warning: women will be dropping like flies :-) this song just reeks of sexuality!

- "I BELIEVE"
Hillbilly Deluxe is a special CD to me. I love all their music, but the song, "I Believe" is my all time favorite. It is a beautifully written song, and extremely inspiring. This CD is right up there with the best of them.

- "Do Your Thang",,,,,,
Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks have topped them selves with Hillbilly Deluxe. This CD shows why they still top the country music charts, And why they still, after 14 years rake in the awards. They are about music. And Hillbilly Deluxe is crammed full of some of their best work to date.. Ronnie excels on Believe and Again.. And gives us something new with Whiskey Do My Talking, Then there is the tonked up Hillbilly Deluxe and Play Something Country... Kix Brooks get you on your feet with She Likes To Get Out if Town,, one of his best songs. I love this CD,,, Brooks & Dunn thank you for some great music
