- A Orginal Album Charley Pride released on CD!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop the Presses, A Orginal Charley Pride album is available on CD. This 1980 Album in which Charley pays tribute to the first

giant country singer and songwriter, Hank Williams is about the only uncut, orginal album in Charley's old RCA catalogue that I know of that is in print!!! That in itself makes it worth buying, and it is priced cheap. The songs themselves are classics and have and will stand the test of time in Country

Music. The "new" song and one Pride orginal sums the CD up nicely," There's a Little Bit of Hank in Me", well I think there is "A Little Bit of Hank in Every country singer and music fan, as just about every performer that has stepped in front of mic has covered a Hank Williams song at one time or another. The only thing I can't figure out about this album is that years before Charley recorded and had a big hit with Hank's Kaw Liga and it is not on here, although it could have been re-recorded and put on here since this is a album of Hank Williams tunes, but I guess Kaw-Liga is readily available on collections I guess??? I guess I should just be thankful BMG released this, maybe other classic Pride albums will follow, it only took 20 something years to release this classic album.

- babyboomerjim's thoughts on this album

First let me say that I dont care for Hank Williams SR.singing his own songs! SORRY,He was a GREAT songwriter but I never cared for him singing his own songs. SECOND, let me add that MOST artists doing other artist songs are usually a BIG RIP-OFF:trying to make a quick buck. But NOT here....Charley puts his heart and soul in these songs and you REALLY believe that hes a TRUE Hank Sr.fan for sure!! You wont find "Your Cheating Heart" or "Cold,Cold Heart"in this collection:INSTEAD he does lesser known classics that HAVEN'T been someone elses POP remakes. He even has a specially written song"Theres a little bit of Hank in me",and after listening to this album you will believe it!! Charley sings these songs with true conviction and give these songs the respect that they deserve. He does my favorite Hank song of all time."A mansion on the hill" and my 2nd favorite song,"My son calls another man daddy";and you can feel the PAIN that the songs carry because of Charley's great renindition of these Hank classics!! I have owned this album as a vinyl LP,cassette, eight track tape, and now THANKFULLY as a cd:well worth the wait. Charley does a great job on another tribute album to Jim Reeves. And though this cd is NOT marketed as a HANK TRIBUTE album;it surely comes across as one that was WELL done and not just some Hank songs thrown together to make a QUICK $$$$>>>>> ENJOY

- Charley Pride at his best

In my opinion this is the best of Charley Pride and in fact one of the best albumns of country music. Charley Pride goes beyond and does Hank better than Hank.
