The online description says "original recordings reissued," but the CD clearly says "original songs re-recorded." These are not the original songs that Charlie Rich is known for.
I bought this cd for myself and it took me back to a time in my life that was fantastic, I loved the memories it brought back to me!
I have 10 Charlie Rich albums and love them all. His voice never varied during his recording career. I think only his style and musical backing varied with the times.
I've listened to this album and a number of the separate titles like Behind Closed doors, Rollin' With The Flow, and The Most Beautiful Girl and compared them with all the other album with like tracks and this is as good as it gets. I think the mastering and the mixing engineers have a greater impact on the final sound than Charlie's voice.
I can hear (using headphones) the tape hiss in a number in few of his early tunes but after '82 and the digital CD came out the hiss was cleaned up very nicely.
Charlie wasn't with us as long same anyone would like but this record doesn't dishonor him in anyway.
