Clay Walker Album: “Rumor Has It”

Clay Walker Album: “Rumor Has It”
Description :
Personnel: Clay Walker (vocals); Brent Rowan (acoustic & electric guitars); Larry Byrom, Tim Mensy (acoustic guitar); Paul Franklin, Tim Sargeant, Bruce Bouton, Dan Dugmore (steel guitar); Stuart Duncan, Joe Spivey (fiddle); Wayne Toups (accordion); Steve Nathan (piano); Glenn Worf (bass); Eddie Bayers (drums); Tom Roady (percussion); Curtis Wright, Curtis Young (background vocals).
Clay Walker is a young Texan with a solid country voice, and on this disc, he's attracted some of that city's best songwriters/arrangers--Tim Mensy and Zack Turner to name a couple. The results are evident in tunes like "One Two I Love You," and "That's Us," a pretty ballad about two lovers whose stark differences are the very things that keep them together.
This is an easy disc to listen to, thanks to top-notch playing throughout and a good mix of up-tempo country shuffles and pleasant slower numbers. True to country form, there are stories in these songs: "Then What" has Walker asking a good friend about the wages of fooling around. Walker even experiments with an island feel in this tune, with steel drums providing a surprising change of pace.

- 'Rumor' DOES have IT!

This '97 release is the fourth of Walker's now five albums (not including 'Greatest Hits'), and should be included in any fan's collection.

There is not a weak cut on the album, and in my opinion, seven outstanding ones. Fans can find three of these included on the 'Greatest Hits' album (the title song, 'Watch This' and 'Then What'), but they'll have to buy this album to own 'I'd Say That's Right,' 'Heart Over Head Over Heels,' 'You'll Never Hear the End of It' and my personal favorite, 'One, Two, I Love You.'

'One, Two, I Love You' is a special song that would make a GREAT Valantine gift from/to anyone still involved in a relationship that began in childhood. Happy giving.

- THE BEST EVER!

This is by far the best Clay Walker album ever. I have four of his albums including the latest "Live, Laugh, Love" and although those are wonderful albums this one is absolutely the best! I have had this album since it first came out and I have just about played it out. There is not one track on this album that I ever want to skip which is quite unusual for me. If you are a Clay Walker fan or if you just want to try him out I recommend that you buy this album. As I heard him say at a concert recently, "This is the most fun you have with your clothes on! "

- You can't keep a good man down!

This CD came out at the perfect time in my life! The song, Country Boy and City Girl, helped me move on from a relationship that I thought would last forever. Without this song I don't know how long it would have taken me to get past my country obsession! Clay Walker has done it again, and no, I am not surprised!
