Disco de Clint Black: “Super Hits [1998]”

Saw Clint about 5 years ago at Foxwoods Theatre in CT...still an amazing singer. This is a CD I lost in a move and I heard a song on the radio that reminded me of that concert so I had to get the CD.

Still some great songs - have this on a cassette:-) but these seem to be timeless - like them as much today as I did back then.

Warning: Under the Album title "Super Hits Clint Black" there are too many versions. They are completly different albums and/or they differ in the number of tracks. This makes everybody confuse the albums. I ordered the album, then I realized that I had ordered a wrong version, so I canceled the order and I reordered the right album, however and despite that, at the end I received a wrong album. (The seller compensated me.)

This is a reissue of the "Super Hits" issued by RCA in 1998, with a different cover. (SonyBMG has been reissuing all of the RCA & Columbia "Super Hits" CDs with new covers and a similar pattern for all.) (Confusingly, RCA in 2003 had issued another "Super Hits" CD with a different track listing and a different cover. This reissue is of the first "Super Hits.")

The music is a mix of hit singles and album tracks. The bonus is two tracks not available on any Clint Black album before--"Chain of Fools," a duet with the Pointer Sisters from the Various Artists CD "Rhythm Country & Blues," and the studio version of "Desperado," from the "Common Thread-Songs of the Eagles" album. The music here is all enjoyable and vintage Black, and makes a nice supplement to the two RCA "Greatest Hits" packages. At the price this is good for both the casual fan, as it has the hit singles "Half Way Up," "One Emotion," "A Bad Goodbye," "Untanglin' My Mind," and "Life Gets Away;" the hardcore fans might like it as a supplement for the rarities.

(Incidently, both "Desperado" and "Tuckered Out" also made the country charts, although neither was an official single release.)

Being a huge Clint Black fan, I jumped at buying this album, and was not disappointed. Several of his big (and my favorite)hits are including on this gem, including "Like the Rain" and "No Time to Kill." If you like Clint Black, you will love this album. Though it only has ten hits on it, they are ten good hits. Super indeed!
