Disco de Darryl Worley: “I Miss My Friend”
 Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel includes: Darryl Worley (vocals); Bryan Sutton (acoustic guitar, mandolin); Biff Watson, Larry Beaird (acoustic guitar); Brent Mason (electric guitar); Paul Franklin (steel guitar, dobro); Rob Ickes (dobro); Aubrey Haynie (mandolin, fiddle); Jelly Roll Johnson (harmonica); Steve Nathan (piano, organ); Eddie Bauer (drums); Eric Darken, Brian David Willis (percussion); The Ordinaires (background vocals).
<p>Country hunk Darryl Worley's sophomore album is a tour de force of country hooks, steel guitars, and old-timey fiddles--and incidentally some pretty fine songwriting, as evidenced by songs such as "I Wouldn't Mind the Shackles" and the title track, both of which deal with the traditional country dilemmas of love and loss, and how to get a hit record out of them. There's a refreshing lack of gloss in I MISS MY FRIEND, recalling Dwight Yoakam's early releases, with some hot picking courtesy of Nashville's finest, a great road song in "Calling Caroline," and some folksy, homespun philosophy with "Family Tree" and "Back Where I Belong." Worley's a traditionalist in the best sense--Hank Williams would recognize the subject matter of "The Least That You Can Do"--and his songwriting is honest, catchy, and sentimental in the grand Nashville tradition. With more than a hint of iron in its soul, I MISS MY FRIEND is a refreshing antidote to the big-budget bluster of some recent country releases.

- Keepin' it country!
Darryl Worley showed us what he was all about with his debut "Hard Rain Don't Last." Now he's back with another album..and he's still singing what he sings best.
The album kicks off with "Tennessee River Run", a song simply described as "fun." The title track is a tear-jerked of a lost loved one...take it however you want. "Family Tree" is maybe a little soft, but it does bring a smile to your face. "Back Where I Belong" is a classic country song of going home, but, of course, this one stands out from all the others. "The Least That You Can Do" will, without a doubt, make you feel for the narrator. "I Built This Wall" tells of the chains we bind ourselves with, most often without even knowing it. "Spread A Little Love Around" tells us to get out and be happy...and, consequently, we'll make others happy. Probably the best song on here (it would have to tie with "I Miss My Friend") is "POW 369." It is a song that we need in this day and age; show the respect your veterans deserve.
Worley co-wrote seven of the album's songs. A man of great talent (not to mention height!), he's bringing his heart and soul to you with his music. Listen to this CD, and you'll know Darryl Worley inside and out. And that is something worth knowing.

- I miss my friend
Country music always gets to the core of a listeners heart. I get chocked up when I listen to country songs that come from the heart, with a story to tell. But got so emotional when I listened to "I miss my friend" that I cried there was'nt enough kleenex left when it was over. Any one with a true love, can relate to the emotional message in this song.

- He just keeps on getting better
After I purchased Darryl's HRDL CD I had the privilege to see him perform live. Man was I IMPRESSED! If I hadn't been "hooked" before from buying his 1st CD I was definitely hooked after seeing him live.
IMMF has a mix of upbeat, lite~hearted fun songs as well as your serious emotional songs. It's a perfect balance for any CD. And the BEST part of the CD is the fact that he has stayed TRUE to his Country roots! Alot of Artist(s) for their sophmore album tend to sell out to the mainstream country, or as I like to call it POP COUNTRY. Not DW! He has kept this CD pure Country all the way.
So if you like country Music that is suppose to be just that COUNTRY. This is the CD to buy. Also if you have not had the pleasure of listen to his first CD Hard Rain Don't Last I suggest picking that one up as well. You will NOT be disappointed!
And if your "hooked" just like I am try catching him in a live show. Darryl and Krew put on an EXCELLANT show! : )

- No sophomore slump
Darryl Worley's debut disc HARD RAIN DON'T LAST was one of those rare albums that was rock solid all the way through, with no weak songs to be found. While it garnered only moderate commercial success, it remains one of my all time favorite albums. Therefore, I was highly anticipating this second release, I MISS MY FRIEND.
I am happy to say I wasn't let down at all. Once again, everything, and I mean everything, is of top quality. While some may criticize it for its similarity to its predecessor, I see this as a positive, because the first one was so great. If you liked HARD RAIN DON'T LAST, buy I MISS MY FRIEND right now. You will not regret it. If you have HARD RAIN DON'T LAST and don't like it (which I would find shocking), or don't like any of Darryl's previous singles, stay away, because this is more of the same.

- SPREAD MORE LOVE AROUND
This CD came to me almost at the same time as the tidal wave 'Tsunami' hit South East Asia, including my hometown country of Thailand. All 6 provinces in the South were ravaged by this mother earth's wrath. Thousands of people were killed just in Thailand alone. So I'd like to take this opportunity to express my deepest sorrow for those who lost their loved ones. And after I got a chance to clear my head and listen to this CD, I found that it contained the very message that can be passed on to those who're less fortunate than us, let's spread a little love around as Mr. Worley told us to do. And for you 'Jam' who almost lost your life at PP Island, I miss you. I MISS MY FRIEND!
