This CD has a wonderful assortment of some songs of Dolly's that are hard to find on her CD's, so this is a great additon to a Dolly collection. Note: Additional Track #16 The Way I See You.
RCA knows that there are 50,000 hard core Dolly fans who will
buy anything that is released. So there's no incentive for them
to reissue anything other than the standard 6 hits and
occasional filler.
Among the many Dolly compilations around, this budget compilation is fairly typical. It contains a selection of Dolly's music covering the period from the mid-seventies to the mid-eighties, generally focusing on Dolly's pop-sounding music but with a few more traditional songs as well.
With popular Dolly classics such as Jolene, Here you come again, I will always love you and Love is like a butterfly as well as some other brilliant songs such as Do I ever cross your mind, Two doors down, You're the only one, We used to and Sweet summer loving, there is plenty to like about this collection. Of course it is possible to argue about what's been included and what's been omitted, but all of Dolly's famous songs have been released on many different compilations, so if your favorite among them isn't here, you should be able to find it easily on a different compilation.
All the tracks here are available on other compilations so the committed Dolly fan does not need this, but if you're just looking for a good selection of Dolly's music at a modest price, this will suit you.
