Emerson Drive Album: “Countrified”
 Description :
The third album by Canadian country act Emerson Drive, COUNTRIFIED is a solid piece of gently rock-influenced new traditionalism showcasing impressive instrumental chops as well. The heart of Emerson Drive is in the interplay between fiddler David Pichette and lead guitarist Danick Dupelle, whose bluegrass-inspired duels sometimes steal the spotlight from lead singer Brad Mates. The album was co-produced by Alabama's Teddy Gentry, contributing to its unpretentious, old-school feel, although hot Nashville producer Josh Leo keeps the songs sounding contemporary. Highlights include the singles "A Good Man" and "Moments," as well as the album-closing remake of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" featuring a cameo from Charlie Daniels himself.

- "Countrified" Rocks!
While I've enjoyed E Drive's past two albums, this one takes their talents a step farther, defining their impact in the country arena. The songs, "A Good Man," "Moments" and "Countrified Soul" are my favorites, but it's not like they outshine the eight remaining songs. Each time I listen to the album, I get something different out of the songs. I'm certain this CD will be at the top of my listening stack for quite a while. BUY THIS ALBUM! It's worth every penny! And if you get the chance, see these guys live. So much energy and fun.

- Freaking sweet!
I was always impressed sense I purchased Emerson Drive's first album, the one with "Fall Into Me." I always hoped that they'd hit a boomtown and create another album. And they did! It's a smashing success!
The first track "A Good Man" has an addictive instrumental ring and explains he just wants to be remembered for being a good father, brother, neighbor, and a friend. The recent number one hit "Moments" is a terrific ballad with a powerful message. A homeless man saves a lost young man from commiting suicide on the East Street bridge. It's just upsetting that one of his band memmbers were actually killed from suicide after the release of this song. My favorite track "You Still Own Me" says that no matter what he does, she is always in his mind. There is also a remake of the Charlie Daniels band's single "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" which even made me like the original version, too.
Countridied is a smashing hit from 2006, and I hope the Canadian country music group makes more albums in the USA.
