<p>"Murder On Music Row" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Awards for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
<p>With George Strait, the hits literally do keep on coming. At the start of the 21st century, more than 20 years into his career, this elder statesman of "New Country" still racked up Number-Ones effortlessly. The secret, of course, is in the songs. Strait's real talent is his ability to choose outstanding material, and there's a hefty chunk of it on this CD, which collects his mid-to-late '90s hits.
<p>It's all here, from the Cajun stomp and rockin' rhythms of "Adalida" and "We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This," to the breezy catchiness of "Carrying Your Love With Me, " "True," and "Blue Clear Sky," to the heartache of "King of the Mountain" and "Today My World Slipped Away." The brilliant "Check Yes Or No" is MIA, but the CD does offer two new cuts, "The Best Day," a father/son ballad, and "Murder on Music Row," a duet with Alan Jackson. The latter is a neat gimmick: two "real" country singers recording a scathing put-down of Shania Twain-type country. But LATEST GREATEST proves that Strait is entitled to scold his colleagues for not "keeping it country." After all, he always has--and look where he ended up.

- Great duet with Alan Jackson
If for no other reason, this is a good CD because of the duet with Alan Jackson called "Murder on Music Row." If you're like me and feel like Nashville systematically snuffed the life out of real country music in the last 10 years, you'll love this song. If you think Shania and Garth are what country music is all about, you won't get the message at all.

- GEORGE IS "KING" AND GEORGE IS "THE MAN" OF COUNTRY MUSIC
GEORGE IS "PURE COUNTRY" IN MY BOOK. I HAVE BEEN A STRAIT FAN FOR MANY YEARS. THERE ISN'T A SONG OF HIS THAT I DON'T LIKE. HE IS CALM, COOL, AND MOST OF ALL "COUNTRY" ALL THE WAY. I WENT TO A CONCERT OF HIS IN PITTSBURGH AND HE IS AWESOME! ALL HE HAS TO DO IS WALK OUT ON THAT STAGE AND HIS FANS GO NUTS! I LOVE THE MAN AND ALL OF HIS MUSIC, ESPECIALLY THE DUET WITH ALAN, THIS SONG WILL BE THE DUET OF ALL TIME.

- Latest Greatest Straitest hits
This CD Should be a 10 star. 5 stars for 14 of the songs, and 5 stars for "MURDER ON MUSIC ROW"! I'm so glad that someone in Nashville is standing up for REAL country music. This CD is a must buy if your tired of the Nashville elite redefineing country music. I'd like to thank George Strait and Alan Jackson for haveing the courage to record a song with such a strong message against some of the terrible music that is being played on country radio today. And thank you Larry Cordle and Larry Shell for your song writting talants. This one's for the Possum!

- If You Like the recent hits, they're here
It's a tough CD to rate because it's a collection of hits thrown together. If you know the tracks from the radio and like them, then buy the cd. Maybe these later era hits aren't as strong and classic as his earlier singles, but if you like such recent chart toppers as Write this Down, Clear Blue Sky, Lead On, etc, they're all here. The two new songs are good, especially Murder on Music Row with Alan Jackson. It's a more generous collection of hits than Greatest Hits One, Two and 10 Strait Hits because it features 15 tracks rather than the predecessors' ten. It's also his first hits collection (excluding the box set) to include new material.

- Great country music
If your a country music fan. You shoud buy this CD. I cant say enough for George and the good music he consistently puts out. This is a hell of a collection of some of Straits finest songs. Georges career is not at all in decline like some think there is just some good competition out there. This album proves that Mr. Strait still has the heart and soul to roll out damn good music.I Love Murder On Music Row, love them all! A must buy!
