Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials announced changes to the 2013 Show schedule today, with a surprising twist. The upcoming Show will be one day longer, running for 21 days — Monday, Feb. 25, through Sunday, March 17 — with a special concert-only performance on the final day by George Strait.

May 10, 2012 George Strait will make 2013 rodeo a day longer
George Strait hasn't played RodeoHouston since 2007, and fans have been asking for him ever since. Someone has been listening. Strait will close the 2013 season with a concert-only performance, featuring openers the Randy Rogers Band and Martina McBride. The addition of that show makes RodeoHouston one day longer, running 21 days -- Feb. 25 through March 17. It will be Strait's 21st appearance.
