Phil Lesh returned to San Rafael, CA’s Terrapin Crossroads last night for another Ramble.

Talent courses through the fingers of mandolin and banjo whiz Sarah Jarosz. By age 12, bluegrass notables like Ricky Skaggs were pulling her into their jam sessions, and by age 16, she had inked a deal with Sugar Hill Records. To cap off high school, she released her debut album, Song Up in Her Head , which led Rolling Stone to call her "Gillian Welch's long-lost daughter."

Gillian Welch has announced a string of spring tour dates. Kicking off on May 30 in San Diego, CA, the duo of Welch and David Rawlings will embark on a two week run through major US cities including San Diego, Austin, and Dallas. The complete list of tour dates is below.

Brit 80s icons Duran Duran are scheduled to play Aug. 12 at the AVA Amphitheatre in Tucson as is songstress Gillian Welch who has a date on Friday, June 1 at the Fox Theatre. Philanthropist and bluegrass lover Warren Hellman was honored Sunday with a free concert featuring a host of regulars at Hellman's own Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival.
