Disco de Hank Williams Jr.: “Bocephus Box [Curb]”

This is simply the best collection of Hank Williams, Jr. availible. This box set shines where "The Complete Hank..." stopped. Included in this box set that weren't in the former are "My Name is Bocephus" and "If You Don't Like Hank Williams". Those two songs can't be left off any collection of Hank Jr. The only down to this box set is some Hank Jr. classics were left out like "Women I've Never Had". None the less, this is Hank Williams, Jr. at his best and its well worth buying. You won't be dissappointed.

This is a decent box set from Hank Jr,but it's far from being perfect.There are too many hit songs that are missing on here.For example.Where is "Young Country"? Or "Good Friends,Good Whiskey and Good Lovin"? Or how about "If The South Would Have Won".There are just too many singles missing here.I think that these songs were more like album choice cuts,that Hank personally wanted to put on here or something.I'm not sure.There is some previously unreleased stuff in here though.Such as a couple of outtakes from the Montana Cafe sessions,which are "Wild Dogs" and his cover of "Secret Agent Man".There is also an outtake from the Rowdy sessions as well.Which is "Waiting On The Tables To Turn".Overall,this is an okay set.But I would recommend getting his other box instead.There's more hits and less filler.

The items arrived safe and sound and the gift made my neice was very happy!

Hanke Williams Jr has recorded some great stuff--New South, Family Tradition, Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound--that you can pick up for $6 bucks a cd. The box set and the complete Hank Williams jr set (for [item price] for the two of them!) have just way too much filler. Do you really want "This ain't Dallas" or the theme to Monday Night football. By all means, spend your money on Hank, but spend it wisely.

Per some of the other reviews, this indeed has WAY too much filler. Do we really need 3 different versions of "A Country Boy Can Survive?" Not in my opinion. And many of the live tracks simply aren't very good. Some of his covers of songs that are owned by other artists are simply shadows of the original versions, such as "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line" and "Midnight Rider." The fact that there could be a 3 disk CD set suppposedly covering Hank Jr's legacy between 1979 and 1999 which doesn't include every single he released during that period is just wrong. At $35, this is definitely not a good value. Better to buy used copies of his greatest hits CDs.
