Jason Michael Carroll Album: “Waitin' in the Country”
Description :
Personnel include: Jason Michael Carroll (vocals); Biff Watson (acoustic guitar); J.T. Corenflos (electric guitar); Dan Dugmore, Michael Daly (steel guitar); John Hobbs, Michael Rojas (piano, organ, keyboards); Alison Prestwood, Michael Rhodes (bass instrument); Greg Morrow (drums); William Hawn (percussion). <p>With a deep, hickory-smoked voice that belies his youth, country singer/songwriter Jason Michael Carroll makes an assured debut, singing hooky, mid-tempo ballads. His straightforward approach, sans glitz, resembles Dierks Bentley, and is a welcome harbinger of a new era of straight-shooting outlaw-country-inspired music from Nashville.

- By Far The Best Debut Album So Far This Year

When I first heard JMC'S debut single "Alyssa Lies", I knew right away he had something different than other newcomer country artists in a good way. However, I knew that i'd have to hear the whole album to know how much I liked him.Take it from me, go ahead and buy it you will not be disappointed. From start to finish this is a great album, nothing is there that I want to skip I can just sit and listen to every song.Don't listen to the 2 star review, this is not a "forgetable" artist.Few new artists these days make such a big impact in country music, but I feel JMC will be around for years. On this album you will find a big variety of songs including upbeat and fun songs, sad songs and love songs.Buy this one now and try it out for yourself.

- COUNTRY MUSIC COOL!

When I first heard "Alyssa Lie's", like everyone else I was moved by the serious material. The best song is "Livin Our Love Song" it captures that euphoric feeling you have when you and that person you love are in synch. The rest of the cd is a wonderful mix of really cool country music. It is rare that one can buy a cd and love all the songs, rather than having to mix up with different artists on their ipod. A MUST HAVE CD!!!

- Amazing. QED.

Ok, not only is he absolutely gorgeous, but his songs are equally amazing, as well - and his voice is just guh.

+ "Waitin' In The Country" - Love this song. The second verse is love, but the whole song's snazzin'.

+ "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead" - "I've got a closet full of Red Bull and Visine to hide the red." You'll laugh, even if you don't want to. xD

+ "Alyssa Lies" - The first song I heard from him on the radio, 'n I still cry every time I hear it.

+ "Lookin' At You" - Sweet and funny, perfect combination.

+ "No Good In Goodbye" - One of my favorite tracks, 'cause he's singing with Jewel (love her) and the song is just gorgeous. ("And I know it can't be over, 'cause I still wake up reachin' for you in the night...")

+ "Livin' Our Love Song" - So sweet, and swoon-worthy (for a hopeless romantic, at least).

+ "Anyhwere USA" - I can't even say how much I love this song. xD It just makes you wanna dance 'n sing along, 'n it's just great.

+ "Honky Tonk Friends" - Silly and fun with a ring of truth to it; very nice.

+ "Love Won't Let Me" - Love this song way too much. It's gorgeous, it's shippy, and an overall guh.

+ "Angel Of Broken Hearts" - It's got this music to it that you wouldn't quite expect, but it adds to a nice, "Ok, I'm tired of being miserable over her - can I move on now, please?" sort of feel to the song.

+ "Let It Rain" - Beyond gorgeous. He sings it higher than the rest of the songs, and it just adds to the song's charm. Gorgeous post-break up song.

- Great Purchase

This album is really strong. My favorite song is "Angel of Broken Hearts" but the entire album is strong.

Jason Michael Carroll has a deep rich voice that commands attention both in his album and his live performances. He has an amazing amount of energy in both. The one song that really lacks appeal on this album for me is "Honky Tonk Friends." It seemed like a forced faked song and failed to follow the flow or feeling of the rest of the album. I did find Anywhere USA to be very catchy among other songs that weren't released as singles.

If you get a chance to catch him live its a good show but he still hasn't quite captured the art of holding the audience and moving them.

- Great Music

Every song is excellent....one of my favorites is "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead". There will be many hits off this one. Great voice out of this guy, he's a newcomer but he'll be around for a long time.

Buy this cd, you won't regret it.
