Jerry Reed is an amazing guitarist, and his early 70's recordings combine his country and pop instincts with a great sense of humor and humility.
I had not heard most of these songs for nearly 30 years, so my opinions of the material are based on my nostalgic fondness for them. Even so, there's a lot to like here. Particular favorites are "500 Miles Away From Home" (great guitar work!), "Alabama Wild Man" and "Huggin' and Chalkin'".
The songs run the gamut from country and pop ballads to country funk rave-ups. The sound quality is excellent, which is surprizing considering the age of this little known material. One Way Records continues to mine gems from the past that the major labels missed.
This is the third CD music of Jerry Reed I have. A lot of these songs on this CD are from before 1972. (13 tracks prior to 1972). This is a BMG Special Product CD. There is 2 LP records on this CD. Excellant Music.
