'Georgia Sunshine' was my first ever record purchase, back in '71. Even as a 9 yr old, this was a favorite listen. 35 yrs later, reconnected via THIS release. Wow! Better than remembered, and now listening with adult ears, have a more mature appreciation of the man's talent in this recording. Believe it has held up extremely well over the years. So many standout tracks, with terrific lyrics ('Good Friends and Neighbors', 'Amos Moses') and dynamite instrumentation ('Mule Skinner Blues' -with Chet Atkins!-, 8 More Miles to Louisville'). I also thought country albums from that era were a bit short in song number -typically 10- AND time -30 min give/take-. This fine album, coupled with the 9 track 'Oh What a Woman' on 1 cd was quite the find. I was unfamiliar with the 'Woman' album, but it is very good in it its own right. As a / if a fan of Mr Reed, this release is highly recommended!
i thought this cd waz wack but as soon as i heard it,boom! it waz all-out! i gave it 4 stars cuz im sure that he could of done better in the few songs he had.i recommened for everyone to buy this cd,cuz itz worth it.
