- If you want early Jim Reeves but can't get the Bear Family..

This double CD contains the entire known broadcast (27 songs) and a later broadcasted (1956) interview with Smiley Burnette. The other CD and remaining tracks on the broadcast CD are the real attraction here - The Abbot record recordings, his earliest hits. 37 Abbot songs in total plus the broadcasts on this CD set. The velvet voice was established here... The Bear Family recordings are for the most devoted and completists.

- The cream of Jim Reeves

Although the bigger 16 cd box by the same label has all of this and more, the sound quality of this version's mastering is different than the mastering on the later set. I liked this one's sound somewhat better (I did a side by side synchronized A/B), though some may differ on that. The booklet in this set is different altogether from the book in the later set. So, it IS a keeper!
