- A Collection of Early Songs from Possibly A Radio Show

I ordered this CD because the listing of songs sounded appealing. The price led me to suspect that they would be his early recordings so I wasn't surprised. The recording is well-done but I prefer the later Jim Reeves when his voice had mellowed. I fault the site producers for not informing the public that the songs were taken from a radio show in his earlier days.

- A radio broadcast (and not even in total)

This import CD collects some of the Radio Broadcast from station WCAY in Cayce, South Carolina (probably in 1955). Fine as it is, for double your money, get the Double Gold CD 'Gentleman Jim', which contains the entire known broadcast (27 songs) and a later broadcasted (1956) interview with Smiley Burnette. The other CD and remaining tracks on the broadcast CD are the real attraction here - The Abbot record recordings, his earliest hits. 37 Abbot songs in total plus the broadcasts on this CD set. The velvet voice was established here...
