John Michael Montgomery's 1997 collection GREATEST HITS spans his albums with his best known hits. He was very popular in the '90s, but lately has been struggling to make it on country radio. It's a shame, as evidence here, that he makes some good music. From the instantly catchy "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)", to the sentimental ballad "I Love The Way You Love Me", there are many dimensions to this artist. His hits "I Swear" and "I Can Love You Like That" were covered by pop group All4One but pale in comparison to the originals. The new track "Angel In My Eyes" is a touching ballad. Other hits include "Life's a Dance", "Cowboy Love", "Friends" and more. Overall a treat for fans and admirers alike. Brandy (Naperville, Illinois) - April 17, 2000
