In fact, this offering from Lee Ann Womack is closer in spirit to the pop-rock of Sheryl Crow or post-crossover Shelby Lynne. You can tell there's more than country cookie-cutter production at work when you hear the subtly grooving R&B of "When You Gonna Run to Me" or when you notice the name-checking of Andy Warhol and Mozart in the title track that opens the album. In fact, the tracks that bear the most traditional flavor are penned by two of Nashville's hippest singer-songwriters, Julie Miller and Bruce Robison. Ultimately, you should toss all preconceptions about contemporary country out the door when encountering SOMETHING WORTH LEAVING BEHIND.

- Lee Ann At Her Best

After hearing the amazing song, Something Worth Leaving Behind, I had to get this CD. I must have listened to the song 30 times, and I still love it. Here's a brief review of each song.

1. Something Worth Leaving Behind ~ Every person that watches CMT or is a fan of Lee Ann Womack has heard this. It's a very poetic song, the lyrics are very amazing, just like Lee Ann's voice. The video for this is pretty good too.

2. I Saw Your Light ~ People say this song is weak, but I don't think it is. Maybe her voice is very soft and quiet, but it works for this song. The lyrics are amazing, it explains everything I want to feel about a person in my life.

3. When You Gonna Run To Me ~ The chorus in this song is great, her voice is awesome. I just am not too crazy about the first verse, but other than that, I like it a lot.

4. Talk To Me ~ This song is really good, too. I think a lot of people can relate to it and she sings it really well.

5. Forever Everyday ~ I love this song. If you're a parent, I know you'll love it. Listening to it makes me want to have children. It's a really amazing song.

6. Orphan Train ~ This song really shows Lee Ann's talent. It's very upbeat and fast, really powerful.

7. I Need You ~ This is another song that shows Lee Ann's talent. I love the lyrics, they're really fun and powerful.

8. You Should've Lied ~ This song is excellent, too. The lyrics are great. It shows that not only can Lee Ann sing high, but low as well.

9. He'll Be Back ~ I don't like this song. It's too country for me. She sings it well and everything, but it's too traditional country for me.

10. Surrender ~ When you hear this song, you know it's gonna be a hit. The song is so great, and it's so visual, you can just picture everything.

11. Blame It On Me ~ This is another great song by Lee Ann. It reminds me of some of her other ones, though. But her voice is beautiful singing it, so I still love it.

12. Closing This Memory Down ~ I like this song a lot, but it could be better. There are a couple parts in the song where she talks, and I don't like it when there's talking in songs. But otherwise, it's a wonderful song.

13. Something Worth Leaving Behind ~ This is a different version of the hit, and I like this a lot. I think the first one's a little better, but I like that Lee Ann has a choir singing with her in the song, which makes it really good.

Go out and buy this CD. You'll want to listen to it over and over. I've listened to it countless times and I have yet to get tired of it.

- THIS is what you call growth!

I'm absolutely floored by this CD. I maintained that "I Hope You Dance" was the best country CD of the year. Well, this one is better. The first few tracks have an easy listening feel-some may call it pop, but it's reminiscent of Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton, Ronny Milsap, and Joan Baez all rolled into one. It's not teeny bop pop like Shaina and Faith but LeeAnn's sense of exploring style. This CD will attract a larger audience, there is no doubt. Vocally, LeeAnn has had some training in nuance and subtlety because she in no way honks through songs and she allowed some breath to come through-not all straight tone. "You Should have Lied" is absolutely amazing and sounds so Dolly Parton to me! I am sooo impressed with this CD. There is something for everyone--without trying to be too pleasing to everyone. I sense more feeling and emotion behind her voice in this album as well. She is delving into other waters slightly, but she still maintains her gentleness. Each song is legit and shows promise; as was the case on 'I Hope you Dance'. LeeAnn is pure artistry in motion with a pure country voice that seems so humble. And, as the CD cover suggests; it's country romance at its best.

- Not to Be Mistaken For Artistic Growth

This album is certainly a change for Lee Ann Womack, but it's a shift away from where her talent lies. Her vocals are still beautiful, but "Something Worth Leaving Behind" is a dull pop-rock crossover exercise with leaden production and songs that are ill-suited to the artist's stylistic strengths. Lee Ann Womack seems to be doing everything she can, both musically and image-wise, to suppress everything that made her original and exciting when she first came on the scene. A waste of talent.

- I'ts alright

I think this is a okay cd by LeeAnn Wolmack but she just doesn't capture my intrest on this cd I mean from the song "I Hope you dance" to "Something Worth Leaving behind" She just messed up in between for some arrent reason. I think the best songs on this cd are "Something worth leaving behind", "Orpan train",and "You Should've lied" becasue they all talk about something other than love and worth listening to. If you love country music this is the cfd for you, but if you like all kinds and like to experiment with different cds this is not the cd to experiment with. HOPE I HELPED YOU ALOT.

- Lovely!

Something Worth Leaving Behind is excellent, and LeeAnn Womack has a beautiful voice. I just love Something Worth Leaving Behind. The last track, Something Worth Leaving Behind, is fast-paced and upbeat. This cd is flowing, calming, and soothing. I'd highly recommend this cd because it's deeply moving and gorgeous!
