- Where's the BEEF????

The album is an awsome Country Christmas album. Problem is that when they put it out on CD they cut out FOUR key songs three of them you could say are exclusive to her, and only she could deliver such a great song. Here are the 4 they cut AWAY IN A MANGER, IT WONT SEEM LIKE CHRISTMAS, I WONT DECORATE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE and the song I would never go through a christmas without cause it keeps my spirits up is, TO HECK WITH OLE SANTA CLAUSE!!

What a shame! most all my music is on cd now, but I have to pull out the ole trusty tape and say a prayer that it will play one more time without getting chewed or warped.

I would buy the CD in a heartbeat if it would replace the songs they butchered out from the original release.

If this is the only version you can get your hand on, Loretta's singing is worth not getting the full package!

P.S Hi Loretta! Happy Holidays!!

- RELEASE THE COMPLETE ORIGINAL!!

The complete original of this wonderful album is from 1966 called "Country Christmas". Whose idea it was to release this on CD and eliminate 4 tracks (which were among the best cuts) and only include 8 is a rip off for the fans of this masterpiece. That is why I am only giving it 3 stars. Loretta gets 5 stars and more for anything but this is for the CD and not a reflection on her singing or the material...but rather the lack and omission thereof.

When they release the complete original "Country Christmas" in CD form I'll be the first to buy and to give it 5 stars and more!!

- This was the best Christmas album ever made!

When I was growing up, on Christmas Eve our house was filled with family, hot chocolate and the sounds of Loretta Lynn, harmoniously singing my favorite Christmas carols (via an 8-track player). The 8-track player destroyed that tape and I have been looking for it ever since. I have a family of my own now and would love to share this album with them as well. I want their memories of Christmas Eve to be as wonderful as mine.

- This edited compilation no longer needed

Now that MCA has re-issued the whole 12 song album under the 20th Century Masters - Christmas Collection series, which clocks in at almost 26 minutes, there is no longer a need for this CD. I would not recomend buying this at the currect used prices listed today. I give this 2 stars, not for the music, but for the nerve of MCA to issue this album with 4 less songs and it was already a very short album with 12 songs. I have never understood this practice (RCA also did this with re-issues of albums in the 80's).

- I hope this CD gets reissued soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember hearing these songs through my bedroom floor when I was a little girl. My parents would put all us children to bed then sit downstairs listening to Christmas music. Lorretta Lynn must have been their favorite because I remember these songs being played more than any others.

I wanted to buy this CD for my Mother for Christmas but I can't see spending between $40.00 and $100.00 for a CD that cost under $5.00 when it was released in 1995.

If only the old record player still worked. :(
