- Wow!

Wow! How refreshing to hear a collection of songs sung so wonderfully by a "legend" who lives up to the title "Still Country". Loretta is such a professional, class act who can stand her own among any female vocalist today. The music on this CD ranges from modern day working girl, to proud country roots, to the heartache of losing someone you love. "I Can't Hear The Music" is a song co-written by Loretta as a dedication to her late husband. With raw emotion and real-life tears this is a song that is full of beauty and heart-break together. Loretta deserves a lot of credit and many congratulations for this CD -- this treasure! I encourage and challenge country radio to grace the airways with this great country music. This is a "must-have" addition to anyone's music collection. Thank you Loretta!

- Hey Loretta...welcome back!

What a pleasure to have another original studio recording from the great Loretta Lynn after over a decade! She's come back with a stellar collection of songs, including two which allude to her late husband: "On My Own Again" and "I Can't Hear the Music." They're just some of the highlights on this CD. I only wish there were more than ten songs and that Loretta had a hand in writing more of the material. Still, the selections are most definitely her style and her voice sounds both mature and girlish at the same time. Get this CD and support a singer who's light years ahead of the current crop of country entertainers!

- Buy this cd NOW!

This CD is Loretta's first cd with all new songs in 12 years. I got an advance copy that was sold at her concerts. This is incredible! There is not a bad song on this Cd and she is indeed Still Country just like the title says. The highlights include the following: On My Own Again, God's Country(a song about Loretta's Kentucky roots), Table for Two(Just me and your memory), I Can't Hear the Music(A song about Loretta's late husband Doo...She was crying as she recorded this and you can hear it in her voice...beautiful), and Country in My Genes(She's a Kentucky Hillbily and she ain't about to change!) There is lots of steel guitar on this CD as well as some banjo. When it comes from Loretta, you know its good. This is one lady who will never change and never dissapoint. They don't call Loretta a Legend for nothing...she's earned it once again with this CD. Way to show em Loretta!

- Loretta is still country (and always will be!)

Loretta Lynn's 2000 album STILL COUNTRY is an excellent album from start to finish. This newly released 2004 version contains the original album and a bonus dvd with two videos for the song "Country In My Genes". This was her first new album in a long time. Her husband died in 1996 and she is heartfelt throughout this album, but nothing is more apparant than the emotional tribute in "I Can't Hear The Music", which is definately the best song on the album. "Country In My Genes" is a great fun uptempo country song that digs at Nashville. Randy Scruggs focuses mainly on her voice, which sounds excellent throughout. Other highlights include "Somewhere Someone's Falling In Love", "Hold Her", "Working Girl", "On My Own Again" and many others.
