Mark Chesnutt Album: “Greatest Hits”
Description :
Personnel includes: Mark Chesnutt (vocals); Biff Watson (acoustic guitar); Larry Byrom, Brent Rowan (electric guitars); Robby Turner (steel guitar); Stuart Duncan (fiddle); Tim Broussard (diatonic accordion); Matt Rollings (piano); Michael Rhodes (bass); Eddie Bayers (drums); Curtis Young, Liana Manis (background vocals).
Engineers include: Steve Marcantonio.
Includes liner notes by Robert K. Oermann.
East Texas native Mark Chesnutt claims his place among the greatest modern country performers with this sampling of songs from his six previous albums. Shunning the glitzy side of the business in favor of the gritty, working-class roots of honky-tonk, this contemporary hillbilly storyteller has instilled his own brand of artistic integrity into popular country music. The songs on GREATEST HITS tell stories about real people, from the sweetly sincere ballad "Let It Rain" to the tongue-in-cheek angst of "Goin' Through The Big D": "I'm goin' through the big D and don't mean Dallas/ I can't believe what the judge had to tell us/I got the Jeep and she got the palace."

- Simply Amazing

Mark has really done a great job putting this CD together...they are all great country songs. The only problem with this album is it's missing one great song...the song....I just wanted you to know. I'm surprised that Mark would forget such a successful song. However, this song is exceptional...way to go Mark.

- Could Have Been Better

This CD could have been somewhat better. It's missing some of his other hits.Such as "Your Love Is A Miracle","I Just Wanted You To Know" and "She Dreams". This collection should've had at least 14 tracks.I would say, just pass this up and get his "Top Marks" CD.It's an import, but you can still get it on Amazon. It's alot better than this. It's got his first 20 singles on one disc.Get that instead. You'll be glad you did.Trust me.
