- Country Music's Greatest Singer
These are two albums that Marty made in the 60's in what was his golden period. There's no doubt that his western songs are the most popular with listeners around the world, but this guy could sing anything. The first album mixes up country and pop and has some great versions of 'Hurt', 'Are You Sincere', 'To each His Own', 'To Think You've Chosen Me', 'I Can't Help It' plus a great title tune 'Just A Little Sentimental.' The second album finds Marty in a more late night style, but while the songs are not standards they are of the highest standard and sung impeccably by Marty. The thing that mystifies me is how such a great singer remains comparatively underrated as listening to Marty's warm, soulful vocals is one of life's great pleasures.

- 2 classic albums from the 60s
This is an enjoyable listen. I have both of these albums on record but they sound much better on CD. The warm infectious tones of Martys' voice made any song his own, as is proven here on the many standards on this set. So turn the lights down low and get a little sentimental!!

- FINALLY!!
Back when I was a child I used to listen to TURN THE LIGHTS DOWN LOW with my father and twin brother. We listened to this album over and over. It was probably our favorite album in a huge collection that my parents owned. My father and twin brother are both gone now, and it tugged at my heart when I saw that this album was finally available on CD. I honestly never thought I would see it released, and now I can listen to it just like when I was a kid. Turn the Lights Down Low is one of the greatest songs Marty Robbins recorded, and all of the selections on the album are first rate. I always thought it was too bad that he wasn't more widely recognized for this album. Listen to it and just enjoy the talent of one of our greatest male singers!
- Vocal capability unmatched
Mr. Robbins singing old standards. This man is remarkable. He is probably best noted for his country/western singing. This CD offers proof of his many vocal talents. He is not only a fantastic vocalist, but also a songwriter of five star ratings. He died young - that was our loss.
