- Not a Bad Album
I think "A Place in the World" is a good album. But in the shadow of Carpenter's previous commercial success, its failure to catch on is disappointing. And as a follow up to "Stones in the Road," its songs are lower in quality. But although not as great as Carpenter's other wonderful work, it is a good album in itself.

- A Poet for all of us...
Mary Chapin Carpenter is one of our finest poets and songwriters. A Place in the World is a superb CD that grows deeper and more affecting with each listen. Hero in Your Own Hometown and A Place in the World are songs which will make you think, make you laugh and make you cry (at least a little). Chapin is truly one of our finest and most gifted artists. Buy this. You won't regret it.

- One Of Her best!
I loved "Place" the day I brought it home and I still do this day. One her best, a true poet with great insight and pretty good voice to interpate the message.

- One of her best!
Once again Mary Chapin sings a great combination of songs - songs that you can't sit still through as well as hauntingly beautiful melodies reflecting on cosmic questions. The song, A Place In The World, speaks from (and to) the heart of us all. Her ability to paint wonderful images with her words continues to shine brightly.
- excellent
This was purchased as a gift for an MCC fan. It filled out her cd collection very well. The cd arrived fast and was in excellent condition.
