- Highly recommend!

Whether you are a longtime Haggard fan or just starting to listen to his music this is a must have. It was recorded before all the overdubbing of the modern era and is better than just about any of the "perfect records" on the market!

- Classic Country

It's a shame that one reviewer dismissed these classics with one star and a throwaway remark. Yes, records made in the 60's were pressed in mono (so what?), but country music doesn't get any better than this, in particular, the title song to "Mama Tried". Merle Haggard is the greatest of all country singer-songwriters, and he is at the top of his game on these two albums.
