- Haggard at his best
This is probably the best Merle Haggard release ever. If there were two country albums I would recommend it would be this one and Haggard's "Serving 190 Proof." They are Haggard at his finest.
There is not an average cut on this album. They are all superb. For the price, you can't go wrong.

- Disappointed in the condition of this used album
I purchased this to replace one I had 40 years ago and when I played it for the first time I was disappointed with the quality of the sound. I am and have been a Haggard fan for many years. A week to 10 days after this one came in I found my original and there was no compairison to this one and mine. Mine played like it was made yesterday and the quality difference was immediatly appearant. My album cover wasn't faded like this one either.
- Merle - Back to the Barrooms
This is in my top 5 albums of all time. Merle's voice is so smooth and the song writting is second to none.
- Really good CD.
My husband and I have always considered this album of Merle's to be his greatest. We're happy to have it in CD form for listening to while traveling.

- Classic
One of the finest stand alone country albums I've ever heard. Bookended by "Misery and Gin" and "I Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink", each song is a little slice of life. Excellent cover of Hank Williams Jr's "I Don't Have Any More Love Songs".
"Makeup And Faded Blue Jeans" is as real a song as you're ever going to hear.
A great album from one of the giants of REAL country music. Get this today. They don't make music like this in Nashville anymore.
