While I absolutely LOVE Merle Haggard, I was disappointed that these were old songs put in a "sneaky" "best of" album.
From the packaging I thought that at the worst Merle was covering his old songs. WRONG. Just re-issues.
BUYER BEWARE.
You are better off buying the original lp's or cd's.
Aren't you tired of the way they keep selling (re-selling) Merle as a has been? He has more talent in one man than all the "hats" have all put together.
His past few recordings over the last 5 years are absolute treasures. While some of his greatest hits albums are worthwhile, buy the entire package instead. You will find that a lot of his best work lies in the shadows of his hits.
