- Solid as always
This album will always be best known for the Townes Van Zandt title track, as it should be. That incredible song, perfectly performed by Willie and Merle, tends to overwhelm what is otherwise a very solid album. The remaining songs are not as memorable as "Pancho and Lefty" but all are good and well performed. There are no throwaways here. The entire album is produced in a rather easy going style, as you'll quickly hear with "It's my Lazy Day", which embodies that feeling both musically and lyrically. Willie and Merle's voices also combine better than one would expect.

- *sigh* canadians
I wouldnt expect a Canadian to know what real good country music is... in other words, this CD is worth the buy, I thoroughly enjoy every song on it. Pancho and Lefty especially. Willie Nelson is the man, I really like listening to him.
- This is a real classic from days gone by, when being country was being cool.
I have always been a fan of Meryl and could take or leave Willie Nelson. The ways these guys did this together makes for a great album. This has many good songs on it and it is one of my favorites.
- essential!
what Willie collection is complete without this one? Both voices are strong, and there is solid, thoughtful songwriting throughout. This CD still sells for a good reason. Half of the songs are about boozin', reflecting the spirit of the times for these two rascals. Must have.
- Pancho and Lefty
This has been one of my favorite albums of all time. I love giving it to people who dismiss country music. It's so great to know I can find music that is not available in stores at Amazon!
