I bought this CD for Fire and Rain, But I was very surprised to hear how great Sammy did on the rest of these songs. Most of these songs are pure memories for me from my younger years. Now having Sammy sing them all to me is, well, Awsome! This is not a typical re-make album, where the singer is most deffinetly singing other people's songs, no, Sammy makes these songs his own. He not only makes them sound like his songs, he does it without changing the arrangements of the originals. They all sound like they were written for him. For the price of this CD, its worth it just to have Fire and Rain. If you love the original as much as I do, Sammy's version will bring tears to your eye... No kidding!
SAMMY CAN SING A SONG AND MAKE IT HIS OWN. THE WHOLE CD SOUNDS GOOD. ANY BODY CAN LISTEN TO THIS.
Hey, I think Sammy is great but to pick these songs as covers is mostly a disappointment. "I know a little" is great, "More than I can say" is good, and "Chevy Van" is terrible. There are millions of songs he could have picked. The CD is cheap but so are most of the selections.
