- You can't go wrong with this collection
Tanya Tucker's smokey voice and great song selection have made her one of the most successful and admired women in country music -- she's had a total of 65 country chart hits, including ten #1s. She is a true original, and makes some of the most potent music around. This collection picks up with her hits from 1990 (My Arms Stay Open All Night) right through her last top 10 hit of the 90's (Little Things). During that time, Tanya hit the country charts a total of 21 times, and this collection contains 16 of those songs, plus two wonderful non-chart-hits (Right About Now and I'll Take Today), one old hit (Delta Dawn from 1972) and one never-before-released song, the fantastic Black Water Bayou. So, overall a good collection of her work from the last decade. But a couple of quibbles that make this a 4-star collection instead of a 5-star collection for me: First, that they didn't include some of her other chart hits from the same time period (including You Just Watch Me and Between the Two of Them), but opted instead to include a couple of non-hits. Second, that they seemed to just tack on Delta Dawn on the end -- I love that song a lot, but since this collection is about her 90's hits, it seems a bit out of place. Third, the packaging seems minimal and hurried, just the barest of information (they don't even mention anywhere that T. Graham Brown is the duet partner on Don't Go Out -- a big ommission), and the photos of her are taken from her last album, Complicated. And fourth, that nearly all of these songs have been released on her last couple of compilations of hits. But, having said all that, this is still a fantastic collection from one of the most fascinating and expressive voices in country music. I, for one, can't wait to see what Tanya does next!

- Tanya's Best
After orchestrating a dramatic comeback in the mid to late eighties, Tanya Tucker went on to spin off hit after hit single through the mid-nineties. Possessing one of the more distinctive voices in country, her singles were always right on, despite the fact that her studio albums often had an uneven feel to them, so this package is the perfect vehicle for all of the best from said albums. Almost everything here was a major radio hit, and deservedly so--Tucker has a strong knack for catchy, addictive singles, and they are in abundance here. Personal favorites--'Down To My Last Teardrop', 'Two Sparrows In A Hurricane','My Arms Stay Open All Night', and 'We Don't Have To Do This'. A must for any country fan who miss the days when country wasn't all about pop.

- Can't get enough.
Tanya's unique style and voice bring it home. Good country music with a mixture of pathos and joy. Memories of old radios playing out the kitchen window.
