- Exactly What I Was Looking For

I like Tanya Tucker, but I'm not interested in owning every one of her hit songs. I had been lookng for a CD that consists mostly of her early hits from the 1970's and I was thrilled to find this one at Wal-Mart. It contains 16 songs (this is a plus because the songs tend to be short), it is remastered, and, best of all, it contains my favorite Tanya Tucker song "Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone). I have found that this song is often left off of her more contemporary greatest hits compilations. There is a maturity and a toughness to Tanya Tucker's early songs that makes this CD a particularly rewarding listen. From the opening line "She's 41 and her daddy still calls her 'baby'", we know that we are listening to a singer wise beyond her years. It is as though Tucker had already seen and done everything when she recorded these songs. I recently saw a documentary on television about women in country music. In it, Brenda Lee comments that "Tanya just matured faster than the rest of us." Listening to this CD, you'll hear what she means.

- Two outstanding tunes.

I purchased this CD to get what I consider two of Tanya Tucker's

outstanding hits. These are the seldom seen (at least by me) "Changes", in addition to "Blood Red and Going Down". The rest of the CD has many wonderfull songs including "Delta Dawn" and "What's your Daddy's Name". I would recommend this to any Tanya fan.

- Great selection of her best songs...

Love the music.

I am not nearly as enamored of the Amazon MP3 delivery process. All I wanted to do was pay my money, get the MP3 files transferred to MY hard drive. They wound up in some kind of Amazon music database (a "cloud player"). I neither like nor trust "cloud" anything and, worse in this case, the cloud storage simply complicated my access to the product I'd purchased. I am likely to look for some other source for buying downloaded (perhaps "download" is too big a word for the Amazon techies?) MP3 files.

- True To It's Name

Tanya had more than 16 hits over her career, but none as big as her earliest and that is what you find on this album. She was the Taylor Swift of the '70s and she was pure country. If you like ol' style, honky-tonkin' country, then you will be thrilled with this album.
