- The 1986 comeback album
Tanya's career started brightly with Delta Dawn and she made some great records in the seventies, but she did not maintain the momentum. By the mid eighties, she was finished as a major recording artist, so we all thought. We'd found a suitable replacement (the equally brilliant Lacy J Dalton) and moved on. Then came this album, which not only returned Tanya to the big time, but also marked the beginning of her most successful period. Over the next six years, Tanya's albums were of a consistently high quality and it is hard to say which was best. They were all brilliant and (as I write this) they are all out of print, though the hits are easy to find on various compilations.
The hits from this album were One love at a time, Just another love, I'll come back as another woman and It's only over for me. If you are thinking of buying this album now, you probably already have a Tanya compilation that includes at least three of these excellent songs. They were all huge hits in the American country charts.
The other six songs are all of an exceptionally high quality and I'm sure that some of them were considered for single release, particularly the title track and Fool fool heart. Most of the non-singles are tender ballads, so in that respect they are more like It's only over for me than the other singles.
No self-respecting Tanya fan should be without this album. It may be harder to find on CD than her other original Capitol albums, because it was not re-issued on CD until several years after her other albums (so there are likely to be fewer copies in circulation), but it will certainly be worth it if you are a committed Tanya fan.

- **Smolderin'**
This album is probably the closet thing you will ever hear to a human being making love to a microphone! Sure it sounds a little crude but this is a Tanya standout like few others. I have to admit I like her early material the best and it is easy to be thrown off by the slightly wonky 80's production qualities but put some headphones on and hear through that -- listen to Ms. Tanya do what she does - her throaty almost erotic voice shines as brightly as any of her early works -- I cannot stop listening to this disc. It does have a slight decline near the final third of the album but I simply cannot give this less than 5 stars regardless. A must own for fans and non fans alike, not her very best but her best from this era. Standouts - the title tracks Girls Like Me, I'll Come Back As Another Woman, Fool Heart, and Somebody to Care.
1. "One Love at a Time" 5/5
2. "I'll Come Back as Another Woman" 5/5
3. "Fool, Fool Heart" 5/5
4. "Just Another Love" 5/5
5. "Girls Like Me" 5/5
6. "Somebody to Care" 5/5
7. "It's Only Over for You" 4.5/5
8. "Daddy Long Legs" 3.5/5
9. "You Could Change My Mind" 4/5
10. "Still Hold On" 5/5
IN CONCLUSION --- I HAVE TO ASK ----- WHY IS 50% OF tANYA tUCKERS MUSIC NOT ON CD OR MP3??? A TRAVESTY!!!

- Girls like her
I was first introduced with her first greatest hits album back in the seventies. As a 13 years old child performer, she made me fall in love with her voice and the story lines in her songs felt so personal. When I heard the run of hit songs on this album, I had to add it to my collection. Besides the hits, my favorite is the blues tempo of "daddy long legs".
As said, a must have for a Tanya Tucker fan.
