This CD originated in Italy, and there is no annotation or even a single recording date, or any information other than the "{$Carter Family}" name and the song titles. The recordings are all decidedly modern, (and feature excellent sound), however, so don't expect anything resembling the historical {$Carter Family} except by association and the old-time harmony singing. The material is also very beautiful, whatever its origin, and won't disappoint unless one is expecting vintage recordings. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
