- A turning point for the Highwaymen

I have owned this album since the mid-sixties and it remains one of my favorite Highwaymen records. This album marked the introduction of Gil Robbins to the group. The groups sound then changed somewhat - Gil who had a very powerful voice and the ability to do things with a lyric that was not present with the original group. Not to take away form the original lineup - they were great, I just feel they became better with Gil. The new blend of voices was wonderful. Dave Fisher, one of best tenors of the folk-era, can be heard at the top of his game in this recording, as are the other members of the group.

I understand that Gil Robbins passed away at age 80 recently. The world has lost a wonderful singer, musician and actor. My condolences to Tim Robbins, his son and the entire Robbins family.
