- A Christmas Tradition

I grew up being subjected to country music against my will, and my mother was particularly fond of the Statler Brothers. I have always loved this album, though, and it ended up being one of the first Christmas CDs I bought for myself. They harmonize so beautifully together and all of the songs are very catchy. I'll never spend a Christmas that I don't play this record repeatedly.

- True Meaning and Spirit of Christmas

Although I'm younger, I grew up listening to older country and of course, The Statler Brothers. I was even lucky enough to see a live performance when I was just 10 years old at Dollywood in Tennessee - shook Phil's hand. Very few group singers stayed together as long as this group did until their retirement a few years ago. They were gentlemen indeed and very audience-oriented. I wish their TNN show would come back in syndication.

This CD was purchased some years ago and I must say, what a wonderful tribute to the season it is.

The songs, "I Believe In Santa's Cause," "I'll Never Spend A Christmas That I Don't Think of You," "Something You Can't Buy," "The Carols Those Kids Used To Sing," and "Who Do You Think?" are among the best Christmas Classics ever. Those songs capture the soul and tell a story of the Christmas Season, revealing the true meaning of Christmas.

First Lines of these songs, respectively:

(1) Never heard a snowman talking...

(2) The year you were snow queen...

(3) The greatest Christmas present is something you can't buy...; When World War II was over...

(4) 'bout three nights before every Christmas...

(5) There are people who are whispering...

If you have to buy one CD this Christmas season, make it this one.
