Trace Adkins Album: “Comin' on Strong”
 Description :
Personnel: Trace Adkins (vocals); Michael Spriggs (acoustic guitar, dobro); Pat Buchanan (electric guitar, harmonica); J.T. Corenflos (electric guitar); Steve Hinson (steel guitar); Gordon Mote (piano, Wurlitzer piano, Hammond B-3 organ, synthesizer); Mike Brignardello (bass); Greg Morrow (drums, percussion); Trey Bruce (percussion, programming); Wes Hightower, Vicki Hampton, Lisa Cochran (background vocals).
<p>On his fifth album, country star Trace Adkins makes a slight retreat from the ultra-modernism of his preceding release, CHROME. Shying away from that album's rock trappings and modern studio techniques, Adkins goes for a much twangier, straight-country sound with COMIN' ON STRONG. That's not to say that he's belting out Hank Williams tunes, or that anybody will mistake him for a New Traditionalist, but Adkins certainly sounds a lot closer to his roots here. As always, his deep baritone is the center of the arrangements, and his friendly, guy-next-door style is almost impossible to dislike. Whether he's extolling the virtues of a "Hot Mama," describing a dark night of the soul on "One Nightstand," or letting it all hang out on the rowdy, rambunctious "Rough & Ready," Adkins has the kind of voice and style that people can instantly relate to, and that's what being a country singer is all about.

- Not just another pretty face
In an industry filled with popstar wannabes, this man reminds you of why you love country music. His gorgeous baritone swings from melancholy to sensual to cocky in this, his best, CD. Great road trip music - but make sure your friends don't mind your singing along at the top of your voice!

- Great cd, though I liked Chrome better.
I'm giving this cd five stars, as it's an excellent cd. There are so many great cuts on this disc, and i really am glad i bought it. It's almost a tie with Chrome for best cd of his career. Almost. Although there are some amazing standout tracks such as One Hot Momma, One Night Stand, Rough And Ready, and a few others, i still think Chrome is Trace Adkin's masterpiece. But that could be because the Chrome cd was what introduced me to Trace Adkins in the first place. The new cd will cement his place in our hearts as one of the most unique voices out there in new country today. There's no one in country music today with Trace's beautiful rich mile-deep baritone that is very comforting to listen to. There are so many good tracks on the new cd. The first single is One Hot Momma, and it's a genuine hit, with a scorching-hot video to go with it. Trace has never looked more confident and sexy in that video. As usual, the songs are well-crafted and gerat to listen to. Many of his songs tell stories, as the song One Night Stand does, in telling the story of a married man who has a one-nighter with a woman after his plane gets snowed in at the airport, and the repercusions afterward. The song is very emotional and you'll feel the painful emotions as very honest and heartfelt. Even though Trace is just singing a song someone else wrote, the way he sings it you would swear he's singing as if he went through it himself. One Of Those Nights is another potential top ten hit with a good driving beat to it that makes it a good dance song. Rough And Ready is the final cut on the cd and it is amazing. You gotta hear this song to believe it!This song is what country music is all about. The energy, the words, the way Trace sings them. If you're a fan of fast up-tempo country songs such as Alan Jackson's Chattahoochie, or Darryl Worley's Tennessee River Run, you will LOVE Rough And Ready!!!!!! This is destined to be a big hit for sure!! All in all, this is an excellent cd, and a must-have addition to your Trace Adkins library. It's almost his best cd yet. But i think Chrome is his best cd ever. But that's just my opinion. Don't miss the new cd. It's amazing! You'll love it.

- Trace's Best Yet!
In COMIN' ON STRONG, Trace sings of first love, lost love, just plain being in love and nearly everything in between. Regardless of where you've been or where you are in a relationship (male or female), I believe Trace covers it in this CD. His rugged/smooth voice is perfect for these songs, plus with the emotion he puts into a song, it's easy to believe he has lived what he sings. The upbeat "Rough and Ready" will have you tappin' your foot and trying to sing along. "Hot Mama" can be appreciated by men and women as it describes what a woman feels and a man wants. "Then Came the Night" is a sweet song about first love while "One of Those Nights" is about a night of hot, steamy sex! This is Trace's best effort yet! There isn't a track on this CD that I don't like.

- Trace Adkins Comin' On Strong
Trace has definitely continued pleasing and exciting his fans and others with his new album. Kicking it off with the steamy "Hot Mama" that makes women everywhere say "I WANNA" all the way to "Rough and Ready", a very fast paced song that is loads of fun. Trace is the greatest, and keeps pumping out winners with his rich soulful voice telling about love.
I recommend this CD to anyone that loves exciting music!

- Better than ever!
This CD comes on like a rocket. Every song leaves you wanting more. This is Trace's best work ever. The songs go back to original sounding Trace Adkins. Great follow up to his Greatest Hits.
