Disco de Tracy Byrd: “Big Love”

What does an artist do after three gold and multi-platinum albums? Well, if you're Tracy Byrd, you take what you've learned, build on it and fly even higher. Byrd's songs have a certain personality that his fans have come to know and love. Big Love starts out with the title track (also recorded by LeDoux) and never lets up throughout the whole album. Cowgirl is a cute texas swing that showcases Byrd's sense of humor with the tongue-in-cheek line, 'With calves like that, you gotta be a cowgirl.' He delivers three smooth ballads with Good Ol' Fashioned Love, Tucson Too Soon, & I Love You, That's All. And of course there is Don't Take Her She's All I Got, another Paychek remake. To this day, that song will drop on me; and, I'll just start singing it. Another great upbeat love song is Don't Love Make A Diamond Shine.

As far as we're concerned, Byrd is now one of the legends. He consistently turns out great songs with a greater voice every time. And just to prove he's the real deal, he sounds just as good in concert as he does in the studio. That's coming from someone who has seen him no less than 10 times in concert. But, then again, what Byrd fan hasn't seen him over and over again!

Yes, we know this comes as a shock; but, we're putting this on on our Top 100 of All Time too.

I have all of Tracy Byrd's CDs and this is BY FAR the best one. It captures everything from Tracy's slow love ballads (Tucson too Soon) to the swinging, "let's have fun" style of Cowgirl. Put this one in your collection. The only problem you'll have is that you'll continually compare this CD to every other Tracy Byrd CD and come up short.

Tracy Byrd had 3 really good albums prior to this one, and this was released toward the end of the Hat Act era. Some of the discs from this time period show artists slowing down a bit, and sort of losing focus on what they did best. Not T-Byrd. Of his early Cds, this one is his best. You cant skip any songs here. There are the typical Tracy Byrd traditional country songs, coupled with some good Texas Swing, and unforgettable ballads. While he does not stray from his tried and true formula, he sounds as fresh as ever. Even the album cover paints the perfect picture for the mood of the whole CD. If you stack this up against anything Tracy did before or after this, it holds its own perfectly. If you like Tracy Byrd's older CDs, or any of the big time Country singers from his era, this CD does not dissapoint. In fact, this album might even gain some Country fans. This is what Country music is supposed to sound like. Thanks Tracy, for putting together a perfect Country album!

A lot of great Country Music came to us in 1996, but T-Byrd tops them all! Pure Country from start to finish. This is a record that does the likes of George, Alan, Chesnutt, and Whitley very, very proud. Fiddle and Steel, with a little Texas Swing, and some classic tear-jerkin' ballads. Tracy's best album!
