Disco de Tracy Byrd: “Love Lessons”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Personnel: Tracy Byrd (vocals), Biff Watson (acoustic guitar), Brent Mason (electric guitar), Billy Walker, Jr. (guitar), Buddy Emmons (steel guitar), Paul Franklin (steel guitar, pedal dobro), Stuart Duncan, Johnnie Lee Carpenter (fiddle), Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Steve Nathan (piano, organ, synthesizer, Wurlitzer), Glenn Worf (bass), Lonnie Wilson (drums, tambourine, vibraslap), John Wesley Ryles, Liana Manis, Mark Nesler (background vocals).
Tracy Byrd has a deep attachment to traditional, rootsy Texas swing, and this influence helps make his third album, LOVE LESSONS, a well-defined, well-paced winner.
Byrd has a talent for saving potential novelty songs from sounding overtly trite and corny. This gift especially helps with upbeat tracks like the rowdy dance club-bound "Honky-Tonk Dancing Machine," and the joyous sing-along, "Walking To Jerusalem." Both display Byrd's confidence and enthusiasm, qualities also captured by his facile way with a romatic ballad, such as the title track. There's also a strong sense of conviction that rumbles within Byrd's deep, resonant Texas voice, especially when he tackles a traditional chestnut like Bill Anderson's tasty shuffle, "You Lied To Me."
Thanks to a sincere delivery, some strong material, and an ability to combine past traditions with contemporary expectations, Tracy Byrd has gained considerable credibility.

- Best Byrd CD In Years

Tracy really hits country in this CD. From Walkin To Jerusalem which gives you a kind of blues feel to my favourite track in Heaven in my Woman's Eyes. I keep thinking of the life I have with my gf when I hear this song over and over. She is my everything. Another great song on this album and the second best tune in my opinion would be Have a good one. True country, what Tracy turns out day in and day out...one true Texan.

- Byrd gives us another classic!

Tracy proves with his third album that the first two were not beginner's luck. He really is one of the most consistent artists in the business! Byrd continues to give his fans a broad range of songs with his own unique style. His ability to bring us a solid album everytime is starting to remind us of another Texan. Of course, you've heard the hits like Love Lessons (co-written by Jerry Kilgore) which follows the lead song Walking To Jerusalem and leads into 4 to 1 In Atlanta starting the album off with a bang. Sure you'll recognize quite a few off of this album. But as always, Byrd gives us some real gems that we may not have heard as much on the radio. Down on the Bottom (co-written by Byrd) is a dark swampy look at losing love that has a really different mood than any other country song we've heard. We're seeing a certain attitude behind the songs Byrd co-writes; and we like it. We're thinking maybe there's some more great stuff he's written but has yet to record.

Another one of our favorites is Have A Good One which sounds so classic, we thought it was a remake. We actually asked the band who originally did it. But, Tracy and the guys assured us that he was the first to cut it. Throughout this album, you will hear those classic overtones which Byrd effectively updates to his own style. While this album did not churn out the hits on the radio, Byrd fans have yet another classic collection of one of the best and truest country singers today. As always, you can listen to the whole album without skipping one song. Again, Byrd hits our Top 100 of All Time. Are you beginning to see a pattern?

- Love Lessons...a great CD from one of Country's Best

Tracy Byrd has done it again with this release. Since I got it, I haven't wanted to stop listening to it. Walking To Jerusalem, the first single on the CD is one of the best ones on it. If you love Tracy Byrd, then you must get Love Lessons!
