Travis Tritt Album: “The Very Best of Travis Tritt”
 Description :
Many of the "hat act" superstars of the New Hot Country explosion of the early 1990s embraced a harder edged honky-tonk image than their '80s predecessors, but few did so with the believability of Travis Tritt. While Garth Brooks sang of "friends in low places," he also covered Billy Joel. Tritt, on the other hand, dressed like a rock & roller, covered Steve Earle and the Eagles, and brought a taut southern-rock influence to his music. Like his platinum peers, however, Tritt also knew his way around a tear-jerking ballad.
<p>Rhino's THE VERY BEST OF TRAVIS TRITT captures both sides of Tritt's catalog--the honky tonk and the heartbreak. The collection is his sixth best-of compilation and one of the finest summations of his career available. All the early '90s hits are here, such as "Help Me Hold On," "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)," and "Foolish Pride," but the disc also includes latter-day smashes such as "Best of Intentions" and "It's a Great Day to Be Alive." Also found here is Marty Stuart's "This One's Gonna Hurt You (For a Long, Long Time)," previously unavailable on any Tritt recording.

- EDITED SINGLE VERSIONS...NO THANKS.
3 EDITED SINGLE VERSIONS, INCLUDING THE BEAUTIFUL "TELL ME I WAS DREAMING," WHICH IN ITSELF IS SACRILEGE. ADD TO THAT THE OMISSION OF "PUT SOME DRIVE IN YOUR COUNTRY," AND I'M SORRY I BOUGHT THIS. JUST ORDERED THE 1995 COMPILATION AS AN IMPORT FROM A SELLER IN FLA, WHICH HAS THE FULL-LENGTH ALBUM VERSIONS, AND "DRIVE." COULDN'T GIVE THIS ONE AWAY !!! RHINO FINALLY LET ME DOWN...

- Great collection, but not the "Very Best"
This CD is missing several of Tritt's recent hits -- "Strong Enough", "Country Ain't Country", "If I Lost You", "Love of a Woman" and "Modern Day Bonnie & Clyde". The collection would be more complete as a two disk set containing all of the songs from his "Greatest Hits: From the Beginning" album combined with all his newer songs.
- great country music
One of country musics hit makers of the 90's released a great album with all of his classic songs, cheaper than iTunes you can not go wrong with this purchase. Plus use of the Amazon Cloud and Cloud Player make this an even better buy
- good music
a lot of tritt's best songs at a bargain price, enjoy some of these classic country hits
you can not beat this.
- Some I really liked
For the price, it was ok. I was never that big of a Travis Tritt fan. I didn't care for his musical politicle views.
