Vince Gill Album: “Pocket Full of Gold”
 Description :
By the time POCKET FULL OF GOLD was released in 1991, Vince Gill was a full-fledged country superstar, thanks to the runaway success of WHEN I CALL YOUR NAME. While GOLD sticks with the strengths of its predecessor, it also proves to be a slightly more dynamic outing, with more upbeat moments added to the mix, including the twangy opener, "I Quit" (which recalls the contemporaneous work of Dwight Yoakam), the rollicking "A Little Left Over" (a showcase for Gill's deft guitar playing), and the sunny, romantic "Sparkle."
<p>The Oklahoma-born singer/songwriter also eases into a handful of affecting ballads, most notably the melancholy title track and "The Strings That Tie You Down," which rides a slow, steady pop-influenced beat. Gill's knack for adding pop/rock elements into his music without compromising its country credibility is one of his finest talents, and it's highlighted remarkably well on this solid and entertaining album.

- Fantastic arrangement of vocals!
I am not a country fan, but have come to the conclusion I would buy any album this artist made. Although I realize comments are to be directed to the content of the songs on the CD, this man could set a nursery rhyme to music, and make people want to buy the CD. The songs on this CD are especially good, and I recommend this CD to anyone that appreciates good quality music, and a really fantastic arrangement of vocals.
- The Greatest
Awesome music! One of country music's best performers! His voice is like a male angel. Seen him three times & would again.
- Love Vince Gill
What can I say? If you want a CD of the best country singer around, then this is the one to get. He's always great and no one can match the quality of his superb tenor voice. He's the greatest.
- My type of Country
This CD is one of Vince Gill's very best I have played it over and over. His unique style is able to be enjoyed by people who don't normally listen to countryt music.
- Vince Gill, I still believe in you
I really enjoy Vince Gill and this CD is wonderful. I usually cherry pick songs on an album and just purchase those songs. It made more sence to buy the whole CD this time. Recommend
