- What a shame

That they never released this album on CD. This is one of my favorite albums, but I have to lisen to it on old tapes. Some of the tracks have appeared on collecion CDs, but i would be great to have it on one CD.

- NO SOUNDTRACK VALIDATES MOVIE THEME

Sony dropped the ball or CD by not releasing a "Songwriter" soundtrack in the early 1980s and apparently are still asleep at the wheel since that mistake has not been reversed with a current release.

Despite continued popularity of the movie, Sony or whoever owns rights to music has failed to capitalize on potential sales. Maybe, Sony could sell music rights to company that marketed "Eddie and the Cruisers".

- Soundtrack not available is a shame

Despite Kristofferson's Oscar nomination (for best song), and Warren's GOlden Globe nomination (best supporting actress), this offbeat little film still has no soundtrack, which is absurd because this is a musical!

- Same here

This is one of my favorite albums, I've been looking for a digital copy to come out for ages but still no luck.

- It's ok.

This is not the exact soundtrack but it is close. I had the original years ago but I wore it out.
