- Superb CD Collection
There must be some very thick Dylan fans around to buy this thinking it was a Bob Dylan music CD . Other reviewers have said it all - IT SAYS EVERYTHING NECESSARY ON THE FRONT. I'm embarrassed to call myself a Dylan fan if such a classification associates me with such numbskulls. As for the review that complains that even the tags don't mention Woody, that takes an extra level of ignorance.These are put up by customers not the label or Amazon, so how you can possibly use this as an additional string to the bow that apparently screams 'rip-off' kind of shows the kind of slugs at work here. DUH!!!
You should be ashamed of being so thick......
And for the somewhat brighter fan, this is a great collection of the songs written by Guthrie that Dylan covered. The original Woody versions (as it says on the tin)!

- Woody Guthrie CD by Bob Dylan
This is a great CD for fans of both Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. I got it for my daughter for Christmas as she is a big fan of both. She LOVED it! - Very Good 'Selection'
I'm surprised that two other reviewers here are complaining that this doesn't contain the Dylan versions of these fabulous tunes - after all it does state on the front cover 'The Originals Of The Songs Dylan Covered'
Ah well, anyway this is a great buy for me because previously I only had a few Guthrie originals on odd compilations so this set is the ultimate Woody 'Greatest Hits' Collection. Also has detailed and illuminating liner-notes from Derek Barker, who is editor of the Dylan Isis magazine.
Grat packaging too.

- Misleading CD Title - RIP OFF!!
This CD is called "Bob Dylan's Woodie Guthrie Collection." I was really looking forward to a collection of Dylan covers of Woody Guthrie's songs. Only when I received the CD did I read in print not legible on the computer that it was
Guthrie singing these songs.
I love Woodie Guthrie and I think I have all of these songs sung by him on older recordings. I ordered this because I thought it was Bob Dylan covering Guthrie's songs. That would have been amazing.
So, I feel ripped off. You should make it clearer that this is Guthrie singing songs that Dylan likes. Why would I want a CD like that?
How do I get my money back and please make it clearer that Woodie Guthrie is singing songs that Bob Dylan likes. How weird is that???

I see someone else was under the impression that Bob Dylan was doing Woodie Guthrie songs, not Woodie Guthrie doing HIS songs. I would NOT have bought it had I known. I am a BIG Bob Dylan fan and thought that was what I was getting, SO.........I AM very disappointed, not realizing it until I had the cd in the player and got through a few songs. Why is Bob's name even on the cover??????? to con people into buying it????? I remember Amazon.com recommending it to me because of my ordering history and I bit.................It's going to sitting on the shelf, listened to it once, maybe again.................someday.
I'M EVEN LOOKING AT THE "TAG" RECOMMENDATIONS, BOB DYLAN, CLASSICS, 1960'S, DYLAN, MY POINT EXACTLY..........NOTHING ABOUT WOODIE GUTHRIE AT ALL!!!
I TOO FEEL RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!
